NUP lawmaker Chaudhari released

Suspended lawmaker Arun Kumar Chaudhari of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has been released.

Chaudhari, who was doing time in Kailali District Prison, was released on Sunday.

He was released after his name featured in the list of amnesty granted by President Bidya Bhandari on the occasion of Democracy Day.

A total of four prisoners including Chaudhari were released from the Kailali prison this morning. President Bidya Bhandari pardoned the sentences of 395 prisoners on the occasion of Democracy Day.

He was found guilty by the court in 2009 for setting ablaze a tractor and was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
