A new alliance has been formed among CPN (Maoist Center), Nepali Congress (NC), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and CPN (Unified Socialists) following an agreement on power sharing.
Leaders have attributed the formation of the eight-party alliance on Friday mainly to the possibility of agreeingon the distribution of power from the center to the provinces.
Leaders claim that the 7-party ruling coalition, including CPN (UML), has split since Friday.
“PM Dahal will lead the government a little more, the time has not been fixed.
The Maoist insistence is 4 years, the Congress has proposed 2 and a half years.
Following the same, the government will be led by the Unified Socialist Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal," a leader who participated in Friday's meeting told Nepal Khabar.
However, the leaders were hesitant to make the agreement public.
Although it is not said whether the situation will deteriorate, it is certain that senior NC leader Ramchandra Poudel will become the President.
Similarly, JSP's Ramsahay Prasad Yadav will be the vice president.
Leaders are reluctant to make it public as there is no written agreement.
It has also been agreed that the top leaders of Congress, Maoist Center and Unified Socialists will decide the share of the remaining power.
"You have to look at UML's attitude, they will try to keep themselves in the government until the end," Prime Minister Dahal’s political advisor Haribol Gajurel told Nepal Khabar.
However, Gajurel says given UML leaves the government, a new course will start.
“In that case, the government from the center to the province should be reshuffled,” he added.
He said that the leadership of the ministries and provinces currently taken over by the Maoist Center will not change.
The eight-party alliance formed on Friday has made an agreement to support the candidate chosen by Congress in the presidential election.
