The hot air balloons, which were packed away following the Covid-19 pandemic, have started becoming visible again in the sky of Pokhara.

Tomas Olevson, a veteran balloonist, has arrived in Nepal. He is from Lithuania.

The pilot of hot air is roped in from Europe since Nepal lacks hot air balloonists.

Ten people can fly in the hot air balloon at a time and the flight time lasts from 30 to 40 minutes. The flight fare has been fixed at  Rs 8,000 for a Nepali citizen and USD 100 for a foreigner.

The hot air balloon had commenced its commercial flight in Nepal on November 16, 2018, informed Bikram Bode, the chairman of the Baloon Nepal Pvt.

The flight services were closed down after the Covid-19 cases spiked in Nepal. The hot air balloon is flown from Pame, the upper part of Phewa Lake.

It can fly up to 4,000 meters from sea level and the rider can view the breathtaking Himalayan range near and around Pokhara.
