Ullens School establishes second unit in Kathmandu

Ullens School has started its second unit at Bansbari in Kathmandu, 17 years after establishing the first unit in Khumaltar, Lalitpur.

Member of the House of Representatives Arzu Rana Deuba inaugurated the second unit of the school amidst a special ceremony on Saturday. The school in Basabari will run classes from class 1 to class 8 from this coming academic session, said Ullens School Management Committee. 

The first unit of Ullens School has been operating at Khumaltar in Lalitpur since 2006.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, MP Dr. Rana Deuba, who is also the chairman of Ullens School Management Committee, shared that Ullens School was established 17 years ago with the aim of providing quality education and now it is possible to open the second unit thanks to the hard work of parents, staff, Ullens Foundation among others.

Speaking at the program, Chinese Ambassador Chen Song, who was invited as the chief guest of the program, said that Ullens School made a significant contribution in providing quality school education in Nepal.

Ullens School, which has facilities in Bansbari, Kathmandu, has started its second unit, targeting the northern part of Kathmandu.

Speaking at the event, Som Paneru, Chairman of Ullens Education Foundation, said that the start of the second unit of schooll, which has been operating for a long time with the aim of providing quality education to everyone in Nepal, is a matter of happiness for everyone.

Ullens School is a non-profit institute founded by a Belgiun charitable couple Baron Guy Ullens and Myriam Ullens in 2006, with the aim of providing access to quality education in Nepal.

In recent times, Ullens School has stood at number one in quality education in Nepal.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the second unit, Medin Lamichhane, the principal of Ullens School, Khumaltar, said that School has won the hearts of many students and parents with its creative and practical teaching methods.

"We set exemplary teaching methods by training teachers in various creative and practical teaching-learning techniques and skills," Lamichhane said in the program.

Also speaking at the program, Prem Thapa, the ward chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, said that the opening of the second unit of Ullens School in Baswari is a matter of pride for the residents of the ward.

"It is a matter of happiness for all of us that a prestigious and non-profit school like Ullens is established in our vicinity," said Thapa, “We are always ready to provide all necessary supports to the school."
