Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by nine wickets in an ODI tri-series match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Chasing the 96-run target set by PNG, Nepal reached it in 7.4 overs losing only one wicket.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, PNG were bowled out for 95 runs in 32 overs. To exert pressure on PNG, Sandeep Lamichhane alone took five wickets giving away 25 runs.

Similarly, Kushal Malla, Lalit Rajbanshi took two wickets each while Sompal Kami grabbed one wicket to limit PNG to paltry 95 runs in 32 overs.

PNG's Assad Vala took the highest 20 runs followed by Sese Bau, Charles Amini and Hiri Hiri with 18, 16 and 14, respectively while the other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.
