Lyricist and Film Director Hira Kaji Thapa has been elected as the General Secretary of the Nepal Film Society, UK.
The Nepal Film Society elected Thapa, who is also the film producer, as its general secretary unanimously.
Issuing a press note, the society informed that Thapa was appointed to the post of general secretary that was lying vacant after former General Secretary Mansudhan Thapa Magar retired from the post on Saturday.
Newly appointed Thapa has been active in the field of Nepali arts and music and in the UK for a long time.
Thapa has composed lyrics of many popular songs such as “Maile Runda Anshu Puchhthyau…..” by Anju Pant, “Sayad Timi Nai Hau Mero…..” by Nabin K Bhattarai and “Ke Chha Khabar …..” by Nepal Idol title winner Buddha Lama, to mention a few, to his credit.
