Government decides to convene Nepal India meeting on petroleum products supply

The government has decided to convene the fourth meeting of the joint taskforce of Nepal and India formed to facilitate supply of petroleum products and gas.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on April 18 decided to convene the Joint-Secretary-level meeting on April 25 in Kathmandu, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said so today amid a news conference.

The cabinet meeting has also given a theoretical approval to formulate new Bill on operation of the National Vigilance Centre and has approved the Land Use Regulations (First Amendment), 2079 BS. 

According to Minister Sharma, who is also the Government Spokesperson, the cabinet has approved visits of four high-level officials from the Office of the Attorney General and Office of the Auditor General to take part in separate programmes in South Korea, China and Azerbaijan.

The cabinet meeting has also appointed Chartered Accountant Bhojraj Pandey as a Member of Auditing Standards Board, Nepal.   

Furthermore, the cabinet meeting has formed a three-member Public Corporations Recommendations Committee under the convenership of Shankar Prasad Adhikari.

The government has given approval to acquire land for the Kathmandu-Tarai/Madhesh Expressway Project and extend the timeline of the Project for four years. 

The cabinet meeting also promoted some high-ranking Nepali Army personnel as well.

Minister Sharma said that the cabinet meeting has given approval for the use of national forest area in Bajhang and Gorkha districts for the Sunigad hydropower project and Upper Richetkhola Hydropower Project.
