Bangladesh have defeated Zimbabwe by three runs in a cricket match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh restricted Zimbabwe to 147 runs in the allotted 20 runs while they were chasing the 150-run target.
To exert pressure on the opponent, Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed claimed the highest three wickets followed by Mosaddek Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman with equal two wickets.
Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams topped the score with 64 runs including eight fours off 42 balls followed by Ryan Burl with 27 runs while the other batsmen could not shine so significantly.
Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss, Bangladesh notched up 150 runs losing seven wickets.
Najmul Hossain Shanto topped the score with 71 runs studded with seven fours and one six. Similarly, Afif Hossain made 29 wickets while Shakib Al Hasan hit 23 runs.
In reply, Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani took equal two wickets for Zimbabwe.
Taskin Ahmed was declared the Player of the Match.
