CPN (UML) Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been suspected.
Issuing a press note on Wednesday, UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel informed that Secretary Rayamajhi has been suspended.
“Our party’s attention has been drawn to the fact that an arrest warrant has been issued to Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, the central secretary of our party, for investigation in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees. We believe in the rule of law. It is our party's established belief that everyone should cooperate in the investigation work carried out by the state,” General Secretary Pokharel said, "Rayamajhi has been suspended from the post to assist the investigation into the case."
Rayamajhi has been missing since last May 3 after being implicated in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
On May 3, he left for Kathmandu from Arghakhanchi saying that he would help law but as soon as he reached Butwal he switched off his mobile phone and went missing.
The police have issued an arrest warrant against him. His son Sandeep Rayamajhi has already been arrested from Butwal on May 3.
Meanwhile, police have arrested 12 individuals including former home minister and Nepali Congress leader Bal Krishna Khand for their alleged involvement in helping Nepali citizens forge documents and sending them to America as Bhutanese refugees.
