After Supreme Court handed down life imprisonment to Resham Chaudhary, the mastermind of Tikapur carnage, former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepal Samajbadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has come down heavily on it.

Resham along with his accomplices is serving a jail term for their involvement in Tikapur incident that killed the lives of eight individuals including the senior superintendent of police, the chief of Seti Zonal Police Office, Kailali.

They have been serving a jail term in various prisons across the country as per the verdict of the District Court Kailali and High Court Dipayal.

Hearing on their appeal, the Supreme Court also upheld the decision of the district and high court on Tuesday.

Lashing out at the SC verdict, Bhattarai said through social media on Wednesday morning, "Courts and judges define 'crime' in line with the existing laws, and precedents and keep criminalizing people."

Therefore, he has also warned that people like Resham Chaudhary will continue to commit 'crimes' in the eyes of existing laws.

"The revolutionaries rebel against the old/existing laws and try to establish a new/future-oriented way of thinking," he said, "this contradiction is ongoing and will continue in history." Resham Chaudhary is a revolutionary! Salute!!'
