Govt to make economic diplomacy more effective

The government has announced to conduct economic policy effectively. It was informed during the presentation of policies and programs for the fiscal year, 2080/81 in the joint meeting of the federal parliaments on Friday.

President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the policies and programs and stated that the role of diplomatic missions and their chiefs would be evaluated based on the mobilization of foreign investment in Nepal, and promotion of tourism and exports. The government would country's foreign missions would be reviewed and strengthened.

He reiterated that Nepal's foreign policy would be conducted in a balanced manner based on UN Charter, non-alignment policy and panchasheel principles. The bilateral relations would be maintained based on sovereign equality, and mutual respect and benefit, the President added.

Efforts would be made to send peace keeping mission under the UN ensuring leading position.

Moreover, all sorts of problems relating to borders would be resolved via diplomatic channel by protecting country's independence and sovereignty.

Nepal's role on multilateral and global forum including the UN would be made more effective, the President stressed.
