Bajhang avalanche: Two found dead, one teenage girl still missing

Two yarsa pickers among those missing in an avalanche have been found dead at Dhanseri in Surma Rural Municipality-2 of Bajhang.

The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Ramkoila Bohara of Surma Rural Municipality-3 and 18-year-old Ramita Dhami of Jayaprithvi Municipality-11, informed the District Police Office.

The condition of 14-year-old Jamati Dhami of Jayaprithvi Municipality-11, who went missing in an avalanche, is still unknown.

Babji Bohara of Surma Rural Municipality-3 and 14-year-old Akash Dhami of Jayaprithvi Municipality-11 were injured in the avalanche.

Police Inspector Ramesh Awasthi of District Police Office Bajhang informed that preparations are underway to bring the injured to District Hospital Chainpur for treatment and the bodies for post-mortem.

They were buried in an avalanche on Sunday when they were collecting Yarsa. A team of Nepal Police and Armed Police reached the incident site yesterday to rescue them.
