CAVA Women's Volleyball: Nepal and India locking horns today

Hosts Nepal and India are facing each other in the ongoing CAVA Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup in the capital city of Kathmandu today.

The match will start at the covered hall of National Sports Council in Tripureshwar.

The match between Nepal and India, who have already reached the semi-finals, will decide the group winners.

Nepal and India, who are in Group A, have secured their place in the last four with one game to go with their second consecutive win.

Nepal want to beat the title contenders India in today's match and make it to the last four as group winners. On the other hand, India also want to maintain their dominance by defeating the two-time champion Nepal.

While former champions Nepal are aiming for a hat-trick of titles with a strong performance at home, India want to maintain their streak.

Nepal have not defeated India till date.

Earlier, Nepal defeated India in one set in the final of the 13th South Asian Games held at the home ground. That is the biggest achievement of Nepal so far.

In the first match, Nepal defeated Kyrgyzstan in straight sets by 25-11, 25-19 and 25-11. In the second match of the group stage, Nepal defeated Bangladesh in straight sets by 25-10, 25-8 and 25-9 to secure a berth in the last four.

On the other hand, India won the first match against Bangladesh by 25-3, 25-9 and 25-6 and the second match against Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in straight sets.

In other matches today, Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan will compete in the last match of Group A. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka and Maldives will play in Group B.

Today's match will decide the group winners and runners-up.

The top two teams in the group will compete for a place in the finals while the bottom two teams will battle it out for the ranking.
