Five killed, 10 injured in Rukum West jeep mishap

Five people were killed in a jeep accident in Banfikot Rural Municipality of Rukum West on Thursday morning.

A jeep, Lu 1 Ja 1747, which was head from Sanibheri Rural Municipality to Khalanga in Rukum West, met with an accident at Toridhara in Banfikot Rural Municipality-8 at 7 am this today.

According to the police, 70-year-old Karna Bahadur Bada Magar of Sanibheri Rural Municipality, Deuchan Khatri, of around 50 years, 22-year-old Rekha Khanal of Banfikot Rural Municipality-8, her son Roshan KC and 23-year-old Sitala of the same place died in the accident.

Ten people were injured in the accident. Five among those injured have been taken to Rukum West Khanalga for treatment.

While five others with critical condition have been airlifted to Surkhet for treatment, Senior Police Officer Ram Kumari Bista of the Area Police Office, Bamfikot, informed.

The ill-fated jeep fell down some 400 meters from the road.
