The main opposition CPN (UML) Members of Parliament (MPs) gheraoed the well shouting slogans against the allegation of corruption levelled aginst their party during the parliament session on Friday.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting after UML MPs picketed the well, shouting slogans.
At the beginning of the meeting, UML lawmakers from seats and started shouting slogans demanding verification of allegations leveled by CPN (Maoist Center) Lekhnath Dah.
Speaking at a House meeting on May 24, Dahal said claimed that the golden Jalahari installed under the Jyotirlinga in the inner sanctum of the Pashupatinath is not the, but the brass.
UML chief whip Padam Giri said that the ruling party has made serious allegations and said that the parliament will not be allowed to proceed until it is verified.
"There is an allegation of corruption saying that the jalahari installed at Pashupatinath is made up of brass, not the gold," UML Chief Whip Padam Giri said, demanding investigation into it.
Giri further said UML will not remain silent if our party is demoralized by leveling baseless accusations without evidence.
Subas Nembang, deputy leader of the UML parliamentary party, took strong exception to the ruling party for making baseless accusations one after the other.
