A meeting was held to address the demands being raised by former British Gurkhas in the capital city London of the United Kingdom (UK).
In the meeting held on Thursday, Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya from Nepal, Juddha Bahadur Gurung representing former Gurkhas and UK Defense Minister Dr. Andrew Morrison took part in the meeting.
Nepali Ambassador Acharya in the meeting on behalf of the Nepal government put forth his views regarding pension at par with the British armies, complimentary pension, a lump sum pay to the families of the deceased and other welfare facilities, reads the press statement issued by the Nepali Embassy in London following the meeting.
Defense Minister Morrison on behalf of the UK government said these demands would be discussed after going through the issues in detail in the next meeting.
Alongside Ambassador Acharya, also participating in the meeting were Deputy Chief of Mission Roshan Khanal, military attaché Colonel Ratna Bahadur Godar, Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Pushpa Rana Ghale representing former British Gurkhas, and Defense Minister Morrison representing the UK government.
