The government has appointed Shobhakant Paudel as the director general of the Department of Customs.
Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat appointed Poudel as new Director General to the post.
After the DG of this Department, Chakra Bahadur Budha, was transferred on May 10, Paudel took over the post.
Paudel was transferred to the Ministry of Finance from the Ministry of Water Supply.
Earlier, Budha was transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Budha was appointed as the DG of the Department of Customs when Janardhan Sharma left the Finance Ministry.
Earlier, Minister Mahat had transferred some joint secretaries to the Ministry of Finance.
Bhupal Baral, Uttar Kumar Khatri and Baburam Subedi were among the new joint secretaries who came to the Ministry of Finance. Bhupal Baral got the responsibility of the head of the institute's division.
Similarly, Khatri was given the responsibility of the head of the budget division. Even though Baburam Subedi was discussed as Director General of Customs, Poudel was entrusted with the responsibility of the Customs.
