PM Dahal observes solid waste management plant at Indore

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who is on a four-day official India visit, has observed the solid waste management plant based in the Madhya Pradesh of India, today.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Indore Municipal Corporation, Harshika Singh had briefed the visiting PM about the waste management process.

Singh shared garbage management has been done by categorizing waste on source. The plant having a total investment of 1.5 billion Indian Currency (IC) had come into operations last year.

CEO Singh informed that the plant has been monthly spending 11.5 million IC for solid waste management.

The center has been earning revenue by managing waste. She informed the center has monthly earned income amounting to 37.5 IC from waste management.

The plant has also been producing gas that is being used as a fuel for vehicles operational in Indore city.

After observing the plant, PM Dahal said he would send a team of technicians from Nepal to study the successful practice of waste management.

The solid waste management being undertaken by Indore Municipal Corporation under Clean India Campaign is considered an example across the globe.

It may be noted that Indian PM Narendra Modi had initiated the clean India campaign after he became elected PM of India.

PM Dahal had set out to Indore of the Madhya Pradesh from Indian capital city, New Delhi, this morning.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had welcomed Prime Minister Dahal at the Indore Airport. Chief Minister Chauhan has hosted a banquet today in honour of PM Dahal.

PM Dahal is returning home on Saturday. A delegation headed by PM Dahal had arrived New Delhi on May 31 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Modi. (RSS)
