Dr. Baikuntha Aryal has been appointed as the chief secretary of the government.
The post was lying vacant after the former Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi was appointed as the National Security Adviser.
A cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar on Tuesday morning decided to appoint Aryal as the Chief Secretary and Bairagi as an advisor to the National Security Council, Foreign Minister NP Saud told Nepalkhabar following the cabinet meeting.
Newly appointed Chief Secretary Aryal has worked as Secretary of Industry Ministry, Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Secretary of Natural Resources and Finance Commission.
