Jubilee Sherpa has been crowned as Miss Nepal North America 2023.
Sherpa won the title of Miss Nepal North America 2023 leaving behind 17 contestants in the competition held in New York City on Saturday.
Eighteen contestants of Nepali origin from America and Canada participated in the beauty pageant organized by Dreams Universal.
Razila Bastola won the first runner-up title and Esha Subedi won the second runner-up title.
Likewise, the Queen of Queens Diamond 2023 title was won by Menjina Maharjan.
The panel of judges initially selected the top ten out of 18 contestants and the winner was announced among the top five finalists.
This time the winner of Miss Nepal North America 2023 will get direct entry to the Miss Nepal 2024 pageant, said the founding president of Miss Nepal North America, Diwakar Rajkarnikar, who participated in the jury.
The choreography of Miss Nepal North America 2023 was done by former Miss Nepal Sadichha Shrestha. She choreographed Miss Nepal North America for the fifth time. The chief guest of the event, Acting Consul General of Nepali Consulate General in New York, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, inaugurated the competition by lighting a panas.
Jubilee Sherpa, Grishma Gautam, Esha Subedi, Shristi Rai, Manikala Gurung, Ayusha Samal, Sneha Ban, Razila Bastola, Rina Shrestha, Chandani Joshi, Suvekshya Karki, Rachna Pokharel, Khushbu Mandal, Jharana Luitel, Menzina Maharjan, Smriti Shrestha, Sanskriti Lamsal and Sadikchya Karki participated in this competition.
Miss Nepal North America has been held since 2018 for the promotion of Nepali art and culture in America under the organization of Dreams Universal. Its founder and chairman is Shailesh Shrestha.
Monica Ghale was crowned as the first Miss Nepal North America 2018 and in 2019 Shreya Gajurel won the crown of Miss Nepal North America. In 2020, the competition could not be held due to the coronavirus pandemic, and in 2021, Garima Gyawali was crowned as Miss Nepal North America while Pratiyusha Bohara won the coveted tile of Miss Nepal North America 2022.
