2 killed as Chitland-bound van veers off road in Chandragiri

The death toll has reached two when a van traveling from Kathmandu to Chitlang met with an accident on Friday morning.

Two people including the driver died when the van fell down about 200 meters from the road at a place called Himchuli above Panighat in Chandragiri Municipality-4.

It skidded off the road and fell some 200 meters down the road while trying to push the another van stuck in the mud, said police, District Police Office, Kathmandu. 

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Nawaraj Thokar Tamang and 45-year-old Anil Tamang of Sindhuli.

Similarly, three people injured in the accident have been rescued. A total of five people including the driver were traveling in the ill-fated van.
