7 among missing in Uttarakhand landslide from a Jumla family

Seven members from a family from Jumla have gone missing in the landslide that washed away a hotel at Gaurikunda in the Indian State of Uttarakhand.

They are family members of Amar Bohara of Patarasi Rural Municipality-3 of Jumla district.

Thirty-year-old Amar, his wife Anita, 29, daughters Salita, 11, Pinki, 9, Preeti, 7, sons Jatil, 4, and Wakil Bohara, 2, went missing in the landslide that occurred in Gaurikunda on the night of August 3.

The entire Chaur Village has been in a state of grief after the seven members of the same family went missing in the disaster.

According to Tara Bahadur Bohara, the great uncle of Amar, there are 22 houses of Bohara family in Patarasi Rural Municipality.

Amar had gone along with his family members to India for employments eight months ago.

A total of 11 people from Patarasi Rural Municipality have gone missing in the Gaurikund landslide.

People from 50 households have gone to Uttarakhand for temporary employments, according to Govinda Rawat, the chairman of Patarasi Rural Municipality-3.

Others missing in the landslide from the rural municipality include Bam Bohara, 38, Shukra Ram Rawat,46, Chandra Kami,25 and Dharma Raj Budha, 55. 

According to police post Talki, Jumla, the body of Dharma Raj Budha has been recovered. A total of 19 people including 11 from Jumla are feared missing in the Uttarakhand landslide.
