Rohit Paudel has been appointed as the new captain of the Nepali national cricket team.
Cricket Association of Nepal on Friday appointed Paudel as the captain of the national cricket team.
The post of the national cricket team was vacant after CAN suspended former captain Sandeep Lamichhane after being accused of rape.
Paudel has set a record by scoring the highest runs in One Day International (ODI). He broke the former captain Paras Khadka's run record in an ODI match played against Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Rohit had notched up 126 runs including seven fours and four sixes off 107 deliveries in the ODI series against Papua New Guinea in March.
Earlier, Paras had made 115 runs in an ODI series played against UAE held on January 28 in 2019.
Rohit had made a debut in an ODI series against the Netherlands in 2018.
Meanwhile, CAN has also announced a 16-member team captained by Rohit for an ODI series against UAE which is scheduled to start from coming Monday.
