Nepali Congress Deputy General Secretary Mahendra Yadav has been attacked with a khukuri in a broad daylight in Kathmandu.
Shyam Lal Sapkota of Nuwakot attacked Yadav with a khukuri at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon, informed SP Kumud Dhungel of District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Sapkota, a self-proclaimed citizen activist, attacked Yadav while he was coming out after attending a program organized at the Reporters' Club Nepal.
Seriously injured Yadav has been rushed to Trauma Center for treatment.
The assailant has been arrested along with the khukuri used in the attack, said SP Dhungel.
