Fifty-five Nepalis have been relocated to a safe haven from the warn-torn area in southern Israel bordering Gaza Strip.

According to Sewa Lamsal, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 55 people who were at risk of war have been moved to a secured shelter at the initiative of the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv.

"We have moved the students from unsafe areas to safe areas. They are in the shelter now. Preparations are being made to take them to the location of the bunker as soon as possible today, Joint Secretary Lamsal told Nepalkhabar on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the process of filling out forms is also going on to find out what assistance is needed by the Nepalis who want to return to Nepal.

By Monday, More than 200 students expressed their interest to return home. “The figure has gone up today,” Lamsal said, “We are working on all options with high priority.”

The government has decided to send Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines for rescue.

But Lamsal said that the process of sending the bodies of those killed during the war has already started. According to her, the bodies of 10 Nepalis are under the control of the Israeli government. After completing all the procedures, the bodies will be handed over.

Lamsal further said that they are also coordinating to send airlines from Nepal to take the bodies and land there. As the war escalates, it is not possible to send Nepali planes, so coordination is being done with other neighboring countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also requested the Nepali people in Israel to stay in the bunker as it is comparatively safer in the current situation.

Ten Nepali students have been killed in the fighting between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. One has gone missing and four sustained injuries.

The students, who went to Israel from Nepal to work in agricultural farms under the "Learn and Earn" program from Sudurpaschim University, were attacked by Hamas.

They worked on an agricultural farm in Kibbutz Alumim in southern Israel. The government has built a mechanism under the coordination of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to initiate and coordinate the protection and rescue of Nepalis there.
