Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has not taken any side of the two candidates who have claimed for the position of Chief Minister of Koshi Province.
According to the spokesperson of the party, Mohan Shrestha, the office bearers' meeting held this morning decided to stay neutral on the issue of selecting the Chief Minister of Koshi Province.
After the official meeting of the party, he said, “Two people have submitted the signatures of 47 lawmakers each. We didn't see the need to support anyone. Decisions can be taken again when necessary.”
Province Assembly members Indra Angbo (Maoist Center) and Kedar Karki (Nepali Congress) laid their claim to the Chief Minister of Koshi Province on Thursday. The deadline for submission of claims to the Chief Minister is expiring at 5 pm today.
Koshi Province Chief Parshuram Khapung is in dilemma who should be made the chief minister.
Both Angbo and Karki have staked their claim for the Chief Minister with signatures of the majority of MPs in line with Article 168 (5) called by Khapung.
