Five members of a family from Surkhet killed in India road mishap

Five people of a family from Surkhet died in a road accident that occurred in India.

They were killed in the road accident at Talaka in Gulbarga district of the Indian State of Karnataka. They had gone to India for a foreign employment one year ago.

The deceased have been identified as Ratan Newar, his wife Asmita Newar, her five-year-old son Milan Newar and her two-year-old son Dhadkan Newar and daughter-in Susmita Newar of  Chaukune Rural Municipality-7, Amalatakura, West Surkhet.

According to their kin, they died on the spot after being hit by a truck on the road to Goa on Thursday night.

They were struck by a speeding truck when they were going to hospital to visit a patient, the elder brother of deceased Ratan, who was undergoing treatment, said Dhaniram Dhamala, the chairman of Chaukune Rural Municipality-7.

Ratan’s family members were traveling on a motorcycle. They were hit when they were returning home after visiting the patient.

They had gone to India for employment one year ago.
