Ram Bahadur Bomjon, a controversial ascetic from Ratnapuri, Bara district, has been arrested.
A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday rounded up Bomjom from the capital city Kathmandu, CIB Spokesperson SP Nawaraj Adhikari told Neplkhabar.
Bomjon has been facing an allegation of committing rapes, murders and sexual harassments against his disciple.
A notice had been pasted in his ancestral home in Ratnapuri in the presence of the ward chairman of Nijgadh Municipality-12, requiring Bomjon to turn up in the court in 2077 BS. However, he did not turn up in the court and had been absconding.
A case has been filed against him at the District Court Sarlahi on the charge of raping a nun.
The district court had issued an arrest warrant against Bomjon.
