Australia defeated Tunisia 1-0 in the group stage match of the FIFA World Cup played at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah City, Qatar on Saturday.
Australia's Mitch Duke scored a goal in the 23rd minute of the first half giving the team a 1-0 lead.
With the win, Australia notched up three points in the points tally, keeping their hope of reaching the knockout stage alive. On the other hand, beaten Tunisia have only one point.
Duke's goal became decisive for the victory of Australia in today's match.
In the 41st minute, Tunisia lost the opportunity to equalize the match after Montasaar Talbi's shot went wide of the goalpost.
Earlier, Australia had lost to France 1-4 in the first group stage match while Tunisia drew with Denmark in another match, thereby sharing one point each.
France, now, will take on Denmark in the next group stage match. The match will start at 9:45 pm tonight.
