Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of three individuals including the chairman and managing director of CG Holdings, Arun Chaudhary.
With the court’s order, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Wednesday released Arun Chaudhary, then chairman of Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory, Ajit Narayan Thapa, and Sanjaya Thakur, the chairman of CG Chandbagh School.
They were released on the condition that they would appear in court to testify if needed, a CIB officer told Nepalkhabar.
The CIB arrested them on the alleged charge of embezzling 10 ropanis of land of Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory on Thursday.
Chaudhary was taken under control from his Lazimpat-based residence and Thapa from Battisputali-based house on Thursday afternoon and carried out investigation by taking them on a four-day remand from the court.
A single bench of Judge Yagya Prasad Acharya on Monday had ordered their release. Despite being arrested by the CIB, Arun and Ajit were kept at Grande Hospital citing health issues while Thakur was taken into the police custody.
All the three will remain under the CIB scanner despite being released, the CIB said.
