Nepal has received a 233-run target from Canada in the ongoing third and final match of the One Day International cricket tournament on Monday.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Canada notched up 232 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Canada’s Navneet Dhaliwal made a half-century before being caught out by Aakash Chand off the ball delivered by Lalit Rajbanshi, follwed by Nikhil Dutta with 45 runs while captain Saad Bin Zafar hit 31 not-out runs.
Similarly, Harsh Thaker, Shreyas Movva and Srimantha Wijeyeratne contributed 29, 25 and 22 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Hemant Dhami took the highest 3 wickets followed by Kushal Malla with 2 wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi and Aakash Chand grabbed one wicket each for Nepal.
This is the third match taking place between the home team Nepal and visiting team Canada. Nepal will make a clean sweep if it won this match. Canada lost both the matches to Nepal in the bilateral cricket tournaments held previously.
Nepal registered a second win in a row by inflicting a four-wicket defeat on Canada in the second ODI match held on February 10 and defeated the opponent by seven runs in the first match held on February 8.
