ACC Premier Cup: Nepal routs Kuwait by 8 wickets, enters semifinals

Nepal has reached the semifinals of the ongoing ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2024 on Wednesday.

Nepal booked berth in the semi-finals by defeating Kuwait by eight wickets under the D/L method held at YSD UKM Oval, Bangi in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The match was reduced to 50-run target after the bad weather played spoilsport. 

Cricketer Indu Barma hit 22 not-out runs including one four off 21 balls followed by Sita Rana Magar with 17 runs. Similarly, Kabita Kunwar and Kabita Joshi scored one run each. 

In reply, Maryam Omar took one wicket for Kuwait.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Kuwait notched up 73 runs losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Priyada Murali made the highest score with 29 runs including three fours and one six off 33 balls.

Similarly, Shanthi Balasubramanian and Khadija Khalil scored 13 runs each. Other batters could not score double-digit runs.

On the bowling side, Sita Rana Magar took the highest three wickets giving away 11 runs while Kabita Kunwar and Rubina Chhetri Belbase grabbed two wickets each for Nepal.
