The Special Court on Friday convicted two police officials and one teacher in a graft case and sentenced them to three to six months in jail.
The court convicted defendant police head constable Bishnu Singh of the graft case.
A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on July 27 caught red-handed the police head constable of Budhanilkantha Police Sector with Rs 62,518 in bribe.
The court had filed a case against Singh at the special court after arrest with the bribe.
Issuing a verdict after hearing the case, the Special Court on Friday sentenced Singh to five years in jail along with a fine of Rs 100,000 in line with the Section 2(9) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.
Similarly, the court has also convicted Sub Inspector Pawan Saud, of Area Police Office, Mainapokhar, Bardiya, of graft on the charge of taking Rs 30,000.
A team of anti-graft body on November 28 had nabbed Saud with the bribe money.
Likewise, the court has also convicted Mahesh Shah of the forgery of documents. The CIAA had filed a case against him at the Special Court on the charge of submitting fake documents at Dasharath Secondary School based in Ghodaghodi Municipality-2. He was serving at the school as a relief quota teacher.
