A German girl has been found dead in Kaski district. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Pla Jos, the District Police Office, Kaski said.
A squad of Armed Police Force (APF) found the dead body stuck in a steep cliff near Mt. Machhapuchchhre on Sunday.
She had gone missing after she fell off a cliff in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-1, Mirsa, when she had gone for a hiking with her American male friend.
Her American boyfriend told the police that she fell off the cliff while they were returning to Pokhara after visiting Machhapuchchhre.
However, the police have not made public the name of the American national.
The Armed Police Force fanned out in search of the missing foreigner after her boyfriend informed the local police in Pokhara.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of 15 members of the Armed Police Force 24 Kalika Battalion, Kaski had been deployed for the rescue of the missing foreigner.
According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, they were preparing to retrieve the body with the help of a string.
Meanwhile, the police have taken the American national, the male friend of the deceased, under control for further investigation into the case.
