Two persons died after being struck by a Scorpio jeep at Kaudena in Sarlahi on Monday night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dipendra Panjiyar of District Police Office, Sarlahi, the deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Shiyananda Mahato, and 19-year-old Ajaya Mahato, 19, of Madhav Narayan Municipality-6, Rautahat.
They were returning to Sarlahi from Rautahat on the motorcycle with the Indian number plate, BR 06 CY 5086, when a speeding Scorpio jeep hit their motorcycle.
The driver of the Scorpio Jeep, HR 59A 0131, is on the run following the accident. “We are searching the driver,” said DSP Panjiyar, “We have taken both vehicles under control.”
