The death toll in the explosion that occurred at Nijgadh Municipality-7 in Bara district on Monday has reached three.
The number of casualties reached three after a 20-year-old youth injured in the blast succumbed to his injuries in the course of treatment this morning, SP Suresh Kafle of District Police Office, Bara said.
“Twenty-year-old Riju Rajat, who was receiving treatment at Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj, succumbed to his injuries,” SP Kafle told Nepalkhabar, “We will make public the details later.”
Earlier, two people including one Indian national and one Nepali had died in the explosion. Indian national Rakesh Jaiswal, 35, breathed his last in the course of treatment at Vayodha Hospital on Monday night. Similarly, Resham Magar, 45, of Nijgadh Municipality-5, had died in the explosion on Monday evening.
A suspicious object suddenly exploded at a workshop operated by Resham Magar at Nijgah Municipality-7 on Monday afternoon.
Surya Bahadur Thapa, 45, of Nijgadh Municipality-5, Phiroj Dewan, 34, and Riju Rajat-9, of Birgunj Metropolitan City-9, and Indian national 20-year-old Arbin Sah sustained injuries in the explosion.
Rajat passed away in the course of treatment this morning, according to the police.
