Nepal has faced a two-run defeat at the hands of Netherlands in the tri-nation T20I series held in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
Nepal was restricted to 182 runs in 20 overs while it was chasing the 185-run target set by Netherlands.
Roelof van der Merwe and Sybrand Engelbrecht took two wickets each to restrict Nepal to 182 runs. Similarly, Vivian Kingma, Timm van der Gugten and Aryan Dutt took one wicket each for Netherlands.
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee made the highest 63 runs including six fours and three sixes followed by Rohit Paudel with 50 runs while Aasif Sheikh contributed 34 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Netherlands notched up 184 runs losing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Michael Levitt topped the score with 54 runs including five fours and three sixes off 38 balls followed by Sybrand Engelbrecht with 49 runs while Scott Edwards and Teja Nidamanuru hit 33 and 31 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Karan KC and Kushal Malla took one wicket each for Nepal.
