The People’s Republic of China has stated that it is willing to work with the new government of Nepal led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

China, as a friendly neighbor and cooperation partner, said it would work with the new government of Nepal to deepen bilateral friendship, strengthen practical cooperation, and advance the China-Nepal strategic partnership of cooperation in line with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

Speaking at a regular press conference organized in Beijing on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said, “We would like to work with the new government to uphold the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, deepen our traditional friendship, strengthen practical cooperation, advance the China-Nepal strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity, and deliver more benefits to the peoples of the two countries.”

Answering the question asked by Global Times on Nepal’s recent cabinet reshuffle, Spokesperson Ning said China was hopeful that the relevant parties would work together in solidarity to realize the political stability, economic growth and improvement of people’s livelihood.

“We sincerely hope that relevant parties of Nepal will work together in solidarity, advance the work related to the formation of the new government in a smooth manner, and realize political stability, economic growth and improvement of people’s livelihood,” Ning said, commenting on Nepal’s recent political transition.

In a dramatic turn of events on Monday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” ended the partnership with the Nepali Congress and joined once again the CPN (UML) to form a new coalition government.

The four parties have agreed to form a new government under the leadership of Maoist Center's Chair 'Prachanda' realizing the need of collaboration among the forces having common thinking on good governance, development , social justice and prosperity.
