Nepal lost to Hong Kong in T20I friendly cricket

Hong Kong has defeated Nepal in friendly T20 cricket by 73 runs.

Put to bat first after winning toss in the match held today, Hong Kong scored 212 runs in designated 20 overs at the loss of six wickets.

Chasing the target of 213 runs for win, Nepal could only gather 139 runs in 16.4 overs at the loss of all wickets.

Binod Bhandari contributed 41 runs off 22 balls for Nepal. Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel made 20runs while Asif Sheikh gathered 38 runs.

Earlier, Hong Kong's Babar Hayat smashed 110 runs off 49 balls with three fours and 13 sixes. Likewise, Martin Coetzee sand Amshi Ray scored 31 and 39 runs, respectively.

Towards bowling, Akash Chand, who made his debut for Nepal in today's match, took three wickets.

The Nepasli team had left for Hong Kong on Thursday to play the tri-series. The T20 series involving Nepal, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea is taking place from March 11.

Nepal will play its first match of the tri-series against Hong Kong on March 11. Similarly, Nepal will play against Papua New Guinea on March 12. The final match of the tri-series will be played on March 13.

The Nepali squad comprises Rohit Kumar Paudel (captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Binod Bhandari, Gulshan Jha, Sandeep Jora, Arif Sheikh, Bibek Yadav, Rashid Khan, Karan KC, Sagar Dhakal, Pratish GC, Lokesh Bam, Akash Chand and Avinash Bohora.
