Paras-led Legends 2014 lifts ExtraTech Legends Cup trophy

Legends 2014 led by former national cricket team’s skipper Paras Khadka has lifted the trophy of ExtraTech Legends Cup T10.

Legends 2014 defeated Rest of Nepal captained by Binod Das by 17 runs at the inaugural match held at the ExtraTech Oval Cricket Ground in Rupandehi on Monday.

Rest of Nepal was restricted to 84 runs in the allotted 10 overs losing nine wickets while it was chasing the mammoth 102-run target set by Legends 2014.

Sita Rana Magar made the highest 12 runs followed by captain Binod Das and Paras Luniya with equal five runs before being sent to the pavilion. Similarly, Jay Prakash Sarraf added six and Dali contributed one run.

In reply, Samson Jung Thapa took four wickets followed by Badri Pangeni with two wickets while Shakti Gauchan took one wicket for Legends 2014.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Legends 2014 notched up 101 runs in the allotted 10 overs losing seven wickets.

Paras topped the score with 39 runs including three fours and four sixes off 12 balls. Opener Birendra Sah contributed 29 runs while Prafulla Vaidya hit 13 runs and Dipendra Lamgade made nine runs.

Rest of Nepal’s spinner Lahkpa Lama took two wickets giving away 17 runs in two overs while Kumar Pradhan and Dipendra Chaudhary grabbed one wicket each.

This cricket match was organized on the inaugural ceremony of ExtraTech Oval Cricket Ground constructed at Tilottama Municipality in Rupandehi.

Rest of Nepal had entered the final by defeating Rupandehi Legends by 16 runs while Legends 2014 booked berth in the final by trouncing 1996 Legends in the semi-final by five wickets.
