Properties worth 11 million 538 thousand rupees were reduced to ashes after a wildfire gutted three houses in Aathrai Rural Municipality-1 in Tehrathum district on Saturday afternoon.
The wildfire which spread to human settlements from Singhadevi Community Forest around 3 pm yesterday destroyed the houses of Devi Gautam, Laxmi Gautam and Ganesh Gautam. Phanindra Gautam had been staying at Ganesh Gautam.
The fire had destroyed houses, grains, clothes and gold ornaments worth Rs 11,538,000, according to the Area Police Office, Sankranti.
The fire destroyed the properties worth Rs 6,238,000 of Phanindra Gautam, Rs 2,590,000 of Devi Gautam and 2,110,000 of Govinda Gautm and Rs 600,000 of Laxmi Gautam.
