A father and daughter were killed in a fire that ripped through the Nawadurga Community Forest at Khadachakra-5 in Kalikot district.
Fifty-year-old Nanda Ram Chaulagain and his daughter Hemanti, 12, succumbed to their burn injuries, said the District Police Office, Kalikot.
The father and the daughter were critically injured after being caught in the wildfire while they were herding goats on March 15.
Critically injured Nanda Ram and Hemanti who were airlifted to Surkhet breathed their last in the course of treatment at Karnali Province Hospital. The daughter passed away on Monday while the father succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
Similarly, 45 goats of Chaulagain also perished in the wildfire, according to locals.
