Nepal defeated Gujarat by eight wickets in a cricket tournament of the SMS Friendship Cup T20 Tri-Series held in Gujarat on Sunday.
Chasing the 99-run target set by Gujarat at the Sai Meghpan Sporrtslife Groung in Gujarat today, Nepal reached it in 15.2 overs losing two wickets.
Rohit Paudel topped the score with 33 not out runs including three fours off 26 deliveries followed by Anil Sah with 32 runs while Kushal Bhurtel and Aashief Sheikh contributed 17 and 16 runs, respectively.
In reply, Tejas Patel and Hemang Patel grabbed one wicket each for Gujarat.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Gujarat notched up 98 runs losing all wickets in 18. 2 overs.
Rudra Patel topped the score with 23 runs including four fours off 22 balls followed by Hemang Patel with 20 runs while Saral Prajapati, Harsh Desai and Smit Patel contributed 17, 11 and 10 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Gulshan Jha took the highest four wickets giving away 22 runs followed by Karan KC with three wickets while Sompal Kami claimed one wicket.
Gulshan Jha is declared the Player of the Match.
