CPN (Unified Socialist) lawmaker Rama Ale Magar has taken the oath of office and secrecy as the minister of Bagmati Province.

Ale Magar, who was appointed as the minister without portfolio, took the oath on Tuesday morning.

Bagmati Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered the oath to newly elected Minister Ale Magar amidst a ceremony in line with Article 168 (9) of the Constitution.

Ale Magar arrived at the provincial meeting yesterday, reportedly after receiving assurances of a ministerial position on Monday afternoon.

In a bid to secure a vote of confidence, Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel reportedly promised Ale Magar a ministerial position on Monday afternoon, leading to her attendance at yesterday's provincial meeting.

Ale Magar, a resident of Chandragiri Municipality, had been elected to the Province Assembly of Bagmati Province representing Kathmandu Constituency-10 (2) in the general elections held on November 20, 2022.

Her ministerial portfolio will be fixed within a few days, leaders have said.
