ACC Premier Cup: Nepal loses to Hong Kong by 4 wickets in 3rd place play-off

Nepal lost to Hong Kong by four wickets in the third-place play-off of the ACC Premier Cup held at Al Amerat in Oman on Saturday  

Along with this defeat, Nepal will not be able to play the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. After losing to UAE on Friday, Nepal crashed out of the Asia Cup.

Chasing the paltry target of 140 runs set by Nepal, Hong Kong reached it 19.3 overs at the cost of six wickets.

Nepal's performance remained weak in both bowling and batting. While Dipendra Singh Airee scored 44 runs on the batting side, Sompal Kami took three wickets on the bowling side.

Hong Kong's Anshy Rath topped the score with 65 runs including four fours and two sixes off 50 balls followed by Babar Hayat with 26 runs while Aizaz Khan contributed 12 runs.

Apart from Nepal's Airee, other batters could not score impressive runs. Sundeep Jora scored 22 runs while captain Rohit Paudel scored 21 runs.

Kushal Malla and Sompal Kami were dismissed for 13 and 12 runs, respectively while the other batsmen could not reach double figures.

In reply, Ayush Shulka took 3 wickets for Hong Kong. Ateeq Iqbal, Yasim Murtaza, and Ehsan Khan grabbed one wicket each for Hong Kong.
