Nepali Army offers 21-gun salute in honor of Qatari Emir Al Thani

Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has arrived in Nepal on a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Ramchandra Paudel.

Qatari Emir Al Thani landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 3: 2 pm.

President Ram Chandra Paudel to welcomed Al Thani at the TIA. A squad of Nepali Army offered a 21-gun salute in honor of Emir Al Thani upon his arrival at the TIA.  This is Al Thani’s first state visit to Nepal after he was crowned as the Emir of the State of Qatar in 2013.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Devraj Ghimire among other ministers reached the TIA to welcome Emir Al Thani. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the Qatari Emir will hold a meeting with President Paudel at his office, Shital Niwas.

The President is scheduled to host a state banquet in honor of the Amir. Similarly, the distinguished guest from Qatar will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Wednesday.

Following the talks, both leaders will witness the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding, the Foreign Ministry added.

The Qatari Emir will depart from Kathmandu on April 24.
