The South Asian Olympic Qualifier is set to be held in Nepal for the Paris Olympics to be held in July 2024.

Organizing a press meet on Sunday, the National Sports Council (NSC) said the Qualifier will begin from May 13 to May 15.

Samyog Kapali, Santu Shrestha, Nabita Shrestha and Ivan Thapa are participating in the Qualifier, informed coach Rajendra Kapali.

A total of 20 players including two males and two females each from Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take part in the Qualifier.

One male and one female will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Even though six countries are to participate in the Olympics from South Asia, India has already selected players.

This is the first time the Olympic Qualifier is being held in Nepal. Around Rs 10 million is expected to cost to host the Qualifier.

The Qualifier will be held at the covered hall of National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur.
