The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) lifted its suspension on national cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane. The decision followed the order of the Patan High Court on Wednesday to acquit him in a case of rape, after overturning the decision of the Kathmandu District Court to find him guilty.
Earlier, the District Court of Kathmandu convicted Lamichhane in the rape case and sentenced him to eight years imprisonment along with a fine. And, it prompted the CAN to suspend Lamichhane from participating in all cricket activities at home and abroad.
