Nepal lost to Canada by 63 runs in the first warm-up match played as part for the preparation of the ICC T20 World Cup last night.
Nepal was bowled out for 120 runs while it was chasing the 184-run target set by Canada.
To restrict Nepal from reaching the target, Dilon Heyliger took the highest four wickets giving away 20 runs followed by Jeremy Gordon and Saad Bin Zafar with two wickets each, while Kaleem Sana and Pargat Singh grabbed one wicket each for Canada.
Kushal Malla's 37-run score remained the highest for Nepal. Malla hit two fours and two sixes off 30 balls while Anil Sah and Aasif Sheikh hit 24 and 22 runs, respectively.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dullas, Canada, notched up 183 runs losing seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Nicholas Kirton topped the score with 50 runs including four fours and two sixes off 39 balls followed by Ravinderpal Singh with 41 not-out runs while Navneet Dhaliwal hit 32 runs.
In reply, Abinash Bohara took two wickets while Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha and Sagar Dhakal grabbed one wicket each for Nepal.
Nepal will play another warm-up match with America on Thursday.
After this Nepal's journey to World Cup begins. America and West Indies are jointly hosting World Cup matches this time. Nepal will play two group stage matches each in America and West Indies, according to the ICC schedule.
Nepal is in group ‘D’ alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Netherlands. Nepal is playing a World Cup match with Netherlands on June 4.
Similarly, Nepal will take on Sri Lanka on June 11, South Africa on June 14 and Bangladesh on June 16.
