Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader of Gandaki Province, Surendra Pandey, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of the province.

Thirty-one lawmakers are required to secure the trust vote.
In the 60-member Provincial Assembly, there are 27 lawmakers from NC, 22 from CPN (UML), eight including speaker from CPN (Maoist Center), and one independent lawmaker.
